Life of Dr. T. R. Ingle
A man saw a dream who preached and implemented it all his
life. This was nothing but in simple terms KNOWLEDGE.
Knowledge is endless and needs to be gained on daily basis
and also shared across so that others could be benefited to
educate themselves and in future pass it on to generations
to come.
Dr. Trimbak R. Ingle (alias Anna Ingle) was born in a small town ‘Tarale’, located in Satara district. He had primary and secondary education in S.S. High School in Aundh village. He appeared for his matriculation examination in 1940 and scored record-setting marks; including 198/200 marks in Mathematics.
Due to severe typhoid for more than 44 days and lack of modern medicines at the time, he was not able to appear for his B.Sc. examination and thus his result was affected. After completing his B.Sc. in Chemistry in S.P College he worked as a research student in

Chemistry department of S.P. College under the guidance of Professor B.V. Bhide. He completed his M. Sc. in Organic Chemistry in the year 1948 and Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry in the year 1956. Dr. Ingle was passionate about teaching and research. He was very popular with his students and his students remember him fondly even today. He worked with S.P.College from 1941 to 1955. He always remained fond of and was very grateful to S. P. College.

On February 10, 1955 Dr. Ingle joined National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune as a scientist in Organic Chemistry. During this period he was offered a scholarship from Purdue University, USA under Professor Whistler. Dr. Ingle worked under his guidance for 2 years and returned to work in NCL till his retirement on 30th September 1985. He was an author of numerous technical papers in India and in U.S.

After his retirement he spent his life with his youngest son Mukund in California and left this world on June 20th 1995 due to massive heart attack.

Life spanning 71 long years in two different continents and covering many fields of interest is hard to describe in these few words. Since Dr. Ingle was passionate about learning, teaching and research, Ingle family instituted a scholarship in 1997-1998 at his beloved S. P. College.

Ingle family believes this would be the best and ever lasting memorial to a great student, teacher, scientist and a legendary human being.
